Syria: Military Intervention West Find a Reason


The Syrian government states is not possible military intervention by foreign forces do to the country. Therefore, it could lead to a confrontation that transcend national boundaries.

In his press conference in Moscow, Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, Deputy Prime Minister of Syria, Qadri Jamil stated that, in response to criticism of U.S. President Barack Obama said U.S. forces can act at any time, if the Syrians began to deploy chemical weapons against the rebels.

Jamil said, the West is looking for an excuse for military intervention, which is to assume that Syria hiding weapons of mass destruction.

Their focus, he added, is a policy that the West will impose the same fate as Iraq when U.S. forces attacked Syria if proven using chemical weapons.

"The West is looking for an excuse to intervene directly. If the reason this does not work, they will look for other reasons. However, new facts will not be the reason for the veto of Russia and China that continues to this day," said Jamil was quoted as saying by Reuters page Tuesday.

Nevertheless, it is recognized that the veto is done China and Russia for UN Security Council action will add to the international pressure. Especially, the pressure on President Bashar al-Assad who are struggling to stop the rebellion during his reign.

"Direct military intervention in Syria is impossible, since anyone can think about it would head toward a wider confrontation restriction Syria," Jamil said.
